Indication
Laxative, for whole bowel irrigation. When attached to various protein medications, polyethylene glycol allows a slowed clearance of the carried protein from the blood.
Contra Indication
Patients with certain stomach problems and hypersensitivity.
Caution
Patients with history of irregular heartbeat, recent heart attack, chest pain, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, phenylketonuria, kidney problems, seizures, alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal, who are taking other medications, any allergy, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side Effect
Abdominal distension, anal discomfort, thirst, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain. Sleep disorder, rigors, uneasiness, dizziness, headache.
