Lupin was founded by Desh Bandhu Gupta in 1968. Lupin Commenced their business in the year of 1968. Their lab was incorporated in the year of 1972. Lupin’s Formulation plants and RD centre was launched in Aurangabad in the year of 1980.Ethambutol production was started in the year of 1981. And in the year of 1989 Lupin chemical was established in Thailand.
Lupin was awarded by ICMA technology for successfully manufactured Vitamin B6 in 1991 and also awarded for FICCI’s for the contribution of rural development in 1992.Lupin get officially the ‘Best Exporter’ Award from the government IN 1996. ICMA Technology award was given for injectable Cephalosporins in 1997.In Lupin Cefotaxime facility was approved by the US FDA in the year of 2000.In the year 2001 Lupin Lab get merged into Lupin Chemicals ltd and now its known as Lupin Limited.US FDA approved Oral Cefaclor injectible plant at Manideep for Lupin in the year of 2003.Lupin get approval in the year of 2004 for State of the art formulation Plants at Goa and Aurangabad. Maiden Employees Stock Option Plan was implemented in 2005.In 2006 new facility was set up in Jammu. Amerisourcebergen gave best award to Lupin for the “Best new manufacturer of the year” in 2007. Lupin acquired Pharma Dynamics in South Africa in the year of 2008.In 2011 Lupin achieve Worldwide Rights for the Goanna® Brand.
