Indication
Hodgekin's disease, lymphocytic lymphogranulomatosis, lymphosarcoma, reticulum cell sarcoma, multiple myeloma leukaemia, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, mycosis, adenocarcinoma ovary, carcinoma breast. Also useful in bioposy diagonsed minimal change nephrotic syndrome in children who fail to respond fo steroids.
Contra Indication
Bladder haemorrhage. Patients with bone-marrow aplasia, acute infection, drug- or radiation-induced urothelial toxicity. Porphyria. Pregnancy and lactation.
Caution
Chloramphenicol retards the metabolism of cyclophosphamide. Elderly debilitated. Diabetes. Discontinue if WBC. Count is less than 3000. Cardiac, hepatic or renal disease.
Side Effect
chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, bone marrow suppression, stomachache, diarrhea, darkening of the skin/nails, alopecia (hair loss) or thinning of hair, changes in color and texture of the hair, and lethargy. Hemorrhagic cystitis,
