Mucolytic agent used in the treatment of respiratory disorders associated with viscid or excessive mucus. Dry eye syndrome, Productive cough.
Dry cough, Prevention and treatment of haemorrhage due to incomplete abortion.
Reversible airway obstructive diseases, Uncomplicated premature labor.
Bronchitis, Cold, Cough, Insect bites, Nasal congestion, Pruritus, Sinusitis, Sore throat, Sunburn, Urticaria, Acne vulgaris, Corns, Dandruff, Itching, Seborroeic conditions, Warts.
|Composit contra indication of Terpect :|
Hypersensitivity to the drug, Pregnancy.
Seizures, Hypersensitivity to murine proteins.
|Composit side effects of Terpect :|
Headache, GI disturbance, Skin Rash, Sweating, Dizziness, Bronchospasm, Rhinorrhoea, lacrimation, gastric irritation and hypersensitivity.
GI discomfort, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, rash, decreased uric acid levels, urinary calculi (large doses).
Ventricular tachycardia, Pulmonary edema, Cardiac arrhythmias, Hypokalemia, Hyperglycemia, Headache, Anxiety, Palpitation, Tremors, Muscle cramps.
Nystagmus, Contact dermatitis, Apnea, Coma, Irregularities in heart rhythm, Vertigo, Drowsiness, Ataxia, Abdominal pain, Nausea and vomiting.
|Composit caution of Terpect :|
Patients undergoing anaesthesia with cyclopropane, halothane or other halogenated anaesthetics, increased risk of arrhythmias may also occur if given to patients receiving cardiac glycosides, quinidine, or tricyclic antidepressants. gastric ulcers due to the mucolytic action of bromhexine hydrochloride, cardiovascular diseases, i.e., ischaemic heart disease; arrhythmias or tachycardia; and occlusive vascular disorders, including arteriosclerosis, hypertension or aneurysms. diabetes mellitus or closed-angle glaucoma. Caution is also needed in patients with convulsive disorders.
Patients with history of persistent cough e.g. occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema, cough accompanied by excessive secretions, cough with a fever, rash or persistent headache, pregnancy, lactation, porphyria.
Arrhythmias, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, diabetes, myocardial insufficiency, history of seizures, heart disease.
Avoid direct instillation of menthol-containing preparations into the nostrils of infants and young children. Pregnancy and lactation.
