In the iPhone and iPad era, the medical technology becomes handy and healthcare reached people by mobile technologies. An all-new, fetal monitoring iPhone application Cerner’s Fetalink has received Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval for remote access of maternal and pre-natal data.
The new application is interfaced with Cerner’s PowerChart Touch application that allows a physician to access clinical and maternal records of patients remotely and neonates of clinic.
The medical application can analyze and display the association of maternal waveforms and fetus that helps the physicians to diagnose waveforms pattern changes rapidly anytime. The timely diagnosis of waveform patterns can help the physicians to choose the right treatment plan and even emergency medical management if required.
According to Cerner, the physicians can rapidly view interpretations of the fetal strip. The summaries of observations can help the physicians to review the vital signs and interpretations in chronological order, within few minutes. The interpretations can be a good navigational tool to analyze the waveform history of patients and to correlate with the respective chronological data.
